House hears governor’s budget proposal

The House Appropriations Committee on Monday held a public hearing on Gov. Jay Inslee’s 2014 supplemental budget proposal.

Washington State University testified in support of the governor’s budget, noting it funded the university’s top legislative priority for $750,000 to fund the leadership for WSU’s designation as an FAA Center of Excellence for Alternative Jet Fuels and the Environment.

The budget also provided planning funding to allow WSU to develop a proposal for a school of advanced manufacturing and aerospace in Everett.
