Bill to transfer buildings to WSU sent to Governor

On Thursday, the state Senate concurred to the House’s amendments to
Senate Bill 6518 and voted 47-0 to send the measure to the governor’s desk.

SB 6518 would transfer one Innovate Washington building in Spokane to Washington State University and the master lease to another.

Already the largest occupant in both buildings, WSU already provides maintenance and operations support for the Innovate Washington Building. If SB 6518 is signed by the governor, the university would use the buildings to help alleviate a space crunch created by the planned development of a new health clinic at the Riverpoint campus. The clinic would provide health sciences students with an opportunity to develop their skills in an inter professional environment while providing health care services for the community.
