WSU seeks expansion in Everett through more course offerings

WSU is seeking to expand its presence at the University Center of North Puget Sound, located in Everett, by adding enrollments in electrical engineering, hospitality business management and communications through a $2 million operating budget request to the state.

The Everett Herald published an article this morning outlining the vision of this expansion for WSU after interviewing WSU Director of State Relations Chris Mulick.

“We’re still in the infancy of what we’re hoping to do there.  We think this represents a meaningful expansion of the center,” Chris Mulick said.

The article reads that if WSU secures this state funding, it would enroll 20 third-year students in each program for the 2013 school year.  In 2014, and every year to follow, there would be 20 fourth-year and 20 third-year students to equal 40 for each program and 120 WSU students total per year.

Add this to the mechanical engineering program currently offered by WSU at the University Center and by 2015, WSU would have 180 students taking courses in Everett.
