Tax collections dip only slightly

An expected dip in monthly state tax collections was modest and overall revenues since the state’s last forecast remain better than expected.

Collections during the Jan. 11 through Feb. 10 period were $8.4 million lower than forecasted in November. But it had been anticipated since the previous two monthly reports showed solid revenue growth beyond projections. In total, collections since the November forecast are $83.7 million, or 2 percent, higher than projected.

You can find today’s report by the state’s Economic and Revenue Forecast Council here.

The next revenue forecast is March 20. The Legislature will use that forecast to write the state’s next two year budget.
