Governor visits WSU Pullman campus

Governor Jay Inslee visited the Washington State University Pullman campus Monday with members of his executive cabinet and staff. Brian Bonlender, director of the state Department of Commerce, and Donald “Bud” Hover, director of the state Department of Agriculture, joined the governor and his wife Trudi Inslee for the visit.

The focus of the campus visit was a morning tour of the Paul G. Allen Center for Global Animal Health and the Washington Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory. You can find The Moscow-Pullman Daily News coverage of the visit here.

In the afternoon, the group visited with the Pullman Innovation Partnership Zone where Inlsee and guests learned about the Port of Whitman’s partnership with WSU. The IPZ works with WSU researchers to develop prototypes with private sector partners, provide internship opportunities for WSU students, assist start-up companies, and promote commercialization of new innovations.
