WSU reports most diverse Freshman class, second-highest enrollment

The WSU News Center reported Wednesday that WSU had their second highest total enrollment in university history for the fall of 2013 with 27,111 students signed up for classes, just 123 students fewer than last year’s record enrollment from fall of 2012.

WSU also announced the university’s most diverse freshman class ever this fall with ethnic minorities comprising 34 percent of all entering freshman, compared to 31 percent of the entering freshman from fall of 2012. Overall, ethnic minorities comprised 24.9 percent of WSU’s total enrollment, an increase from last year’s 22.6 percent.

As in past years, the large majority of students enrolled at WSU, roughly 89 percent of all undergraduates, are residents of the state of Washington.
