On Monday, several Washington State University (WSU) faculty members participated in a wine roundtable hosted by Congresswoman Suzan Delbene.  Dr. Stephen Jones, director of the WSU Mount Vernon Research and Extension Center, Dr. Carol Miles, a researcher at the WSU Mount Vernon Research and Extension Center and Dr. Thomas Henick Kling, director of the WSU Viticulture and Enology Program joined industry leaders and community organizations to discuss the importance of the wine industry in Washington State.

During the course of the event, Congresswoman DelBene highlighted the significance of the unique relationship between WSU and the wine industry.  The group also spoke on the importance of Congress passing a five-year farm bill. The legislation supports a growing economic driver within the state by providing vital research that benefits wine and grape producers across the state.
